Crespi Community Support
January 10th, 2025
Greetings Crespi Families:
We thank you for the outpouring of support for more than 200 Crespi families and alumni families as well as countless others in the broader Southland communities who have been adversely affected by this week’s fire emergencies.
Currently, we know of 4 current Crespi families who have lost their homes as well as 1 Crespi faculty member who lost their home.
We recognize that you may be highly motivated to donate in support of our 5 Crespi families as well as others, and Crespi aims to be a resource for your giving efforts.
- Crespi Families
- An immediate need for our Crespi families will be food, clothing, and school supplies.
- If you are interested in donating directly to support these families, we are prepared to accept and distribute the following:
- Crespi uniform items in new or slightly used condition, including shoes.
- Coats, blankets, scarves, gloves, and other items of comfort and warmth in good repair.
- Gift cards to grocery stores or other vendors of the above goods and items.
- The Crespi campus will be open and accepting donations of clothing and gift cards today - Friday, January 10. Feel free to stop by the Crespi Front Office between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to drop off your donations.
- Additionally, we will be accepting donations during each day next week, January 13 through January 17, from 1:00 p.m. t0 3:00 p.m.
- Broader Community
- To support the broader community with financial donations and volunteering efforts, we join our Catholic brothers and sisters in support of Los Angeles Catholic Charities: https://catholiccharitiesla.org/
- To donate food, we recommend Loaves and Fishes II:
- 7309 Van Nuys Blvd.
- Van Nuys, CA 91405
- (818) 997-0943
- If you wish to support firefighters and first responders, we recommend the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation:https://supportlafd.org/
- Additionally, if you would like to support the numerous pets and pet owners who are struggling, we recommend working with LA Animal Services: https://www.laanimalservices.com/
Guided by the Carmelite charism of prayer, community, and service, we aim to continue to be a beacon of hope and support in these trying times. We recognize that the families affected by this tragedy will require our assistance and collective resources for an undetermined timeline.
We thank you for your continued support and communication as we navigate the uncertainty of these challenges together.
May Our Lady of Mount Carmel continue to guide and protect us.
