The John King Fund for Faculty & Staff Excellence supports the school’s commitment to improving its academic quality and reputation by rewarding, recognizing, and retaining the best faculty and staff.
Crespi faculty, of which 90% hold advanced degrees, are dedicated to the young men they serve. They are mentors who listen and observe the talents and challenges of our Celts, and over the course of four years, get to know and appreciate each student.
Bright and energetic, caring and accessible, Crespi teachers, coaches, and administrators are committed to their students’ success.
We are proud to name this fund for beloved teacher John King, who retired from Crespi after 47 years. During his tenure, Mr. King coached football, taught English, served as Dean of Discipline and was Chairman of the English department.
Most importantly, he was a faith-filled role model and mentor to generations of Celts, who still recognize him as a figure that played a meaningful role in their Crespi experience. Crespi Carmelite is excited to honor Mr. King’s legacy as we attract, develop and retain first-class educators.
The Tim Gray '81 Scholarship Fund was established by his parents, Doug and Arlene. Gray was a graduate of the class of 1981. During his four years at Crespi, Tim pursued college preparatory courses and played basketball and football. Throughout his life, Tim was an avid supporter of all Crespi activities and maintained lifetime Celt friendships.
This scholarship was created in the memory of Paul Angel Jr., graduating class of 2001. He was a member of the Crespi Basketball program. Paul was full of life. His family and friends want him memorialized with this legacy.
Peg O’Connor was a beloved member of the Crespi community for 40 years.
The Batsis Scholarship provides financial support to a wide range of students to sustain a socially and economically diverse student population at Crespi.
The alumni of Mt. Carmel High School, Los Angeles, have a strong belief in Carmelite Education. In the spirit of the Carmelite Charism of service to the community, they seek to help students who are from a disadvantaged situation and would otherwise be unable to attain a Christian education in a Catholic Environment. The Mt. Carmel scholars will be those who show outstanding leadership skills, maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher, who are conscientious of the needs of the community and seek to improve it for future generations.
